Explore the New Horizons IT Career Training Programs
New Horizons Computer Learning Centers offers more than just a computer training school. Our information technology and healthcare information programs provide the training you need to qualify for technology and healthcare career opportunities.
Our Program in Information Technology offers several specific concentrations depending on the career path you are looking for in the I.T. industry:
Management of Information System (MIS) Network Administrator
In the MIS Network Administrator Program the student is taught the skills to work in a cross platform or mixed Windows environment.
Upon completion of the MIS Network Administrator Program the student will have obtained the skills necessary to design, develop, implement and manage either a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) enterprise network using Windows technologies with active directories for maximum data access and security.
The time allocated for this is sufficient for the student to prepare for the certification test necessary to become a MCP-Microsoft Certified Professional, MSCA-Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, MCSE-Microsoft Certified Professional, and a CCNA-Cisco Certified Network Associate.
We have also included interactive computer lab hours to further support the training experience. Eligible employment opportunities with these skills include: MIS Network Administrator, IT Director, Network Designer, and Network Support Engineer/Technician.
Information Technology (IT) System Administrator
In the IT Systems Administrator program, students gain beginning to advanced knowledge of a personal computer plus additional knowledge in Windows Server.
Students complete this program in three parts: Taking training courses leading to CompTIA’s A + Certification, training courses leading to CompTIA’s Network + certification as well as server training courses to study how to manage LAN or WAN networks, leading to the Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) certification.
Computer and Network Support Technician
The Computer and Network Support Technician program is designed to educate the student in the Microsoft Office application suite, as well as incorporate training that teaches skills necessary to build, repair, troubleshoot and configure a computer, and provides hands-on opportunities to learn the fundamentals of networking.
This training includes networking concepts, protocols, network devices, TCP/IP architecture, Internet addressing, routing, servers, remote connectivity, user management, network security, encryption and firewalls, as well as troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
Student may elect to add the security training that, in addition to the CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, leads to the Security+ certification.
Computerized Office Support
This program is designed to provide the students with Beginning to Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite applications. As a certified professional they will be able to maintain and execute electronic spreadsheets, records management systems, and word processing software.
